“The Sweet Medicine” Blessing Mist – Review for Shamana Flora Apothecary

Written by Amanda Klenner

blessing mistHere in Colorado, our hot sunny days and increasingly cool nights signal the arrival of that special time of year: back to school time!  As an herbalism student who moonlights as a school psychologist during the work week, this is especially relevant for me.  This time of year brings the sometimes difficult transition from a peaceful summer break to the hectic goings-on of another school year, and I’ve been wondering how to ask my new found plant allies for support.

My herbalism teacher, Amanda Klenner, seems to have a knack for giving me the right thing at the right time, and this was no exception.  She offered me her bottle of Shamana Flora Apothecary’s “The Sweet Medicine Blessing Mist” and asked me to try it out.  The Blessing Mist is created by Darcey Blue, a shamanic herbalist and the creator of Shamana Flora.  I have tried several products from Shamana Flora and loved them, so I knew that I was in for a treat.  I tucked the bottle into my purse and carried it with me for the next week.

The Blessing Mist is a blend of herbal extracts, essential oils, and plant spirit essences.  Using this product offered me a sweet escape into a moment of peace, which is usually so hard to find in the middle of a busy work day.  When I felt overwhelmed, discouraged, or overly wound-up, I would spritz my wrists and take a deep breath.  The first scent to come through was usually Lavender for me.  As it stayed for several minutes on my skin, the scents of Palo Santo and Sweetgrass became the strongest of the blend.  Each time I used this Blessing Mist, I would take a deep breath and just smile.  I felt the smile emanating from my heart, like a soft spirit hug from the plants.  Using the Blessing Mist was an uplifting and relaxing experience for me.  I cherish those moments of peace, and was grateful for the plants’ support as I navigated through those first days with students.

The directions on the bottle state that the Blessing Mist can be used in your office, home, car, or your body.  My favorite use for this product was to spray it directly onto my skin.  I have very sensitive skin and sometimes have reactions to body products, but I found the Blessing Mist to be very gentle.  I also used it several times in my office and in my car (to shoo away pesky rush hour traffic energy), and each time found that using it lifted my heart and eased my mind.

For me, there’s no denying it: there’s something magical about Darcey’s Shamana Flora products.  When I use them, I can feel her special relationship with the plants that she incorporates into her practice.  As promised, her Blessing Mist brought sweet blessings to my busy days and transported me to a peaceful place inside of myself.  With an uplifted heart and soul, I felt better equipped to face the challenges of my day.

I encourage you to check out more of Shamana Flora’s excellent products, created by shamanic herbalist Darcey Blue!  I especially love her Pavana Chai Masala with tulsi and turmeric, and her Sage Heart elixir.    You can purchase “The Sweet Medicine” Blessing Mist here, or and check out everything else she has to offer in her shop!
